I've created a new site for digital artists. It allows for things like a forum, personal and private discussion groups, bulk upload of images, photos albums and slide shows that you can share, and all kinds of stuff. I'd love for you to come check it out at
[link] made a list of pros and cons of what the site has to offer at
[link] and I'd love for you to read it over, sign up and kick the tires, and spread the word.
I'm particularly interested in getting the word out to our non-fractal friends as well. It isn't just a site for fractal artists. If you know anyone that does 3D stuff or Vector stuff or so forth, please pass this invite on to them. And, even if you don't want to take part in the new site, feel free to mention this in your journals and so forth.
D.
I spend a good deal of time online at this point, and if that continues to be the case, I may sign up.
Not doing much artistically actually, trying to recoup lost skills. However, I will stop by from time to time and check; and if things are looking up for contributing (like I actually get my Art back to some level of function), I may join.
You are no doubt familiar with Rederosity, too. I think when you offer prints and kits and resources for sale, the site gets a small cut, and that could be a way for you to offset those costs. (I would hate to see all those free APO scripts disappear, however!)
Never the less, they do up a lot of stuff, sell to a lot of game builders, etc ... Zbrush is a movie maker's hang out.
[[[It has a lot of render skin hanging out, you would think in real life many of them owned exotic dance clubs or something (must be some seriously repressed members of the species). But they have an outlet, and if it gets too much I just click away to other things, like trees, textures, water and splashes (and SMOKE .. awesome smoke this morning!).]]]
I see so many fractals here which would be great material for alien worlds .. various kinds of planets (terrain), terrible caves, lousy forced landing sites, etc ... that I am surprised there is not a way (and a bunch doing it) of putting those textures to work in some of the 3D terrain programs, like Bryce, etc etc etc ... it's a shoe in!
Anyway, good luck, and if I get my creativity back in gear, you are in my book marks!! ... (I really want to do 3D, but not enough ram and boogies on the MB, so next pc!)
