My disability check that was promised on Monday did not show up today. After a phone call to Sedgwick, I was told that since they had not sent me my letter detailing my avenues of appeal, that they were going to pay me this month. But, in their total incompetence, they did not submit the authorization until after some AT&T cut-off and the check did not go out. AT&T will allegedly wait another month before cutting the check. I explained to them that by the time I get documentation telling me what I can do to appeal this that I won't have the income and medical insurance to even get them the requested documentation. They replied that they are not responsible for me not getting medical documentation. I told them that it wasn't someone else that canceled my benefits and all I got was a "well that's your opinion". I asked them to then explain where I was wrong and was told that they would not argue with me over it. Ultimately, the whole exchange was orchestrated to avoid telling me how I was supposed to get the necessary monthly documentation to them with no income or medical insurance. They told me that they would be sending out the letter documenting my rights to appeal to me next week. I told them that it took a full 30 days just to get a referral to see a Cardiologist from the HMO and they should at least keep my benefits active until after the appointment, but was told that the customer service rep that indicated this possibility on Monday wasn't a case worker and couldn't make those kinds of statements or promises. At this point, I can't even think. My eyes are so blurry that I can't even read this without squinting and I have tunnel vision and chest pains. My entire head is numb - even my tongue. I'm tired of their unwillingness to tell me what will meet their satisfaction and having different people tell me opposing information. I'm contacting a lawyer. I have no way to buy groceries, much less hire a lawyer, but maybe he'll make a call or send a letter on my behalf.
DOH!
Just had one of those OH CRAP! moments. I intended to delete all the files in my folder with "par" as part of the name. Worked great...except it also deleted my PARAMETER folder with all my M3D thumbnails and parameters! Luckily, everything through yesterday was backed up, and I've posted the 15 or 18 missing parameters on Google Plus. So I can get them back, but it sure would be nice to have batch M3P -> TXT and batch TXT -> M3P capability. So happy that I've been sharing all my parameters on G+ though. Not only does it allow others to play with them, but really saves my bacon when I do something uber dumb! LOL
Like a bad rash than won't go away, I'm BAAAACK!
It's been a crazy year and I haven't been around for a while. Moved into a new place and got it all set up, got both of my kids through high school, and stayed real busy as the head moderator over on Theologica (theologica.ning.com). Haven't done fractals in a long, long time. Then, last Sunday, an online friend posted something from Mandelbulb 3D. Blew me away and I had to check it out. And in the last five nights, I've been up past 5am on four of them - partly because of insomnia and partly because I was so lost in M3D that I couldn't find my way back home. :) I've been busy though. I only post a small bit of my work here on DA. For
My ordeal may be coming to an end
If you have followed my journal for the last three years, you know about my fight with an insurance company that used my computer's ability to render fractals as some justification that I was not disabled. They have now agreed, however, to arbitration in the case. It is scheduled for next Tuesday. It is going to be an all day ordeal and I will be spending it between my wheelchair and a reclining camp chair that I am going to have to bring myself.
My ordeal with my insurance company may go away next week....but so may all information I have posted about what they have put me through. If you want to see/archive it before it is possibly gone
An Easy Explanation of Fractals
Just posted a short web page explaining fractals for all those that have asked me the question over the years. You can read it at this (http://bit.ly/FractalTutorial). I tried to use non-technical language as if I were going to be teaching this to home-school kids or something. If you haven't seen the videos I link to there though, you should really check them out.

My advice to you is to find the nearest legal aid service. The insurance company is only going to try to find ways of not paying. I know what youre going through; I have been living with Lupus since `99. My faith, family and friends were my inspiration.
